Warrant issued for arrest of Bermuda lawyer accused of perverting the course of justice

HAMILTON, Bermuda — A warrant has been issued in Bermuda for the arrest of lawyer Kamal Worrell, who is accused of perverting the course of justice.

Worrell, 34, who is jointly accused with 26-year-old Devon Hewey, and 22-year-old Dujon Reid-Anderson, failed to appear in Magistrates’ Court on Monday for mention.

It is alleged that between July 14 and September 23 last year, the men conspired to pervert the course of public justice in a Supreme Court attempted murder trial, namely, to have the victim give false or fabricated evidence as a witness that Hewey was not the person he saw on a motorbike from which shots were fired at him.

The matter was adjourned until January 26.
