MIAMI, USA -- A low pressure trough located about 1,000 miles east-southeast of the Windward Islands is producing disorganized showers and thunderstorms.

According to the National Hurricane Center (NHC) in Miami, although this system is close to dry air, some slow development is possible over the next few days while the system moves westward at 15 to 20 mph.

An Air Force Reserve reconnaissance aircraft is scheduled to investigate the disturbance on Monday afternoon, if necessary.

The chance of a tropical cyclone forming in the next five days is estimated to be medium (40 percent).
