FORT LAUDERDALE, USA -- Silver Airways is continuing to expand its Florida – Bahamas network by adding new non-stop service between West Palm Beach and Bimini and one-stop service between Tampa and Bimini on April 20, 2017.
This marks the first time Palm Beach residents can travel directly to Bimini without having to drive to Fort Lauderdale or Miami. In addition, Tampa area travelers will also benefit from the quick, one-stop connecting service to Bimini that this new route provides.
Bimini is located just 50 miles off Florida’s coast and is the closest Bahamian island to the United States, boasting miles of pristine beaches. Known as Ernest Hemingway’s favorite escape, visitors from around the world enjoy its historical complexity and renowned past, including Bimini Road, which some believe is a remnant of the legendary Lost City of Atlantis.
“We are thrilled to continue expanding our already robust network between Florida and The Bahamas with new service between West Palm Beach and Bimini,” said Jason Bewley, Silver Airways CFO and executive vice president. “We look forward to giving travelers in West Palm Beach and Tampa convenient options to experience the new Hilton at Resorts World Bimini and why it truly is better in The Bahamas.”
As the airline of choice between Florida and the Bahamas, Silver Airways offers more flights within Florida and between Florida and the Bahamas than any other airline.
From West Palm Beach, Silver currently offers nonstop service to Nassau and Marsh Harbour (Abacos), as well as Tampa.
Silver Airways’ connections offer customers the ease and convenience of seamless booking, ticketing and baggage handling with connections to dozens of destinations that are available via the airline’s codeshare partnerships with JetBlue, United and Avianca, as well as interline ticketing partnerships with American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Air Canada, Alaska Airlines, Bahamasair, Hahn Air, Azul Brazilian Airlines, and All Nippon Airways.
All of Silver’s flights are operated with its fleet of 21 highly reliable and fuel-efficient 34-seat Saab 340B Plus turbo-prop aircraft.
