Guyana tech company set to unveil the world's newest antivirus software
Published on July 9, 2016Email To Friend    Print Version

GEORGETOWN, Guyana -- In less than a week, a Guyana-based software development company will be officially launching the world’s newest antivirus software, in addition to a professional PC cleaning tool, and a spyware removal tool.

Presumably a first for a Caribbean tech company, the CompuCare antivirus software, along with the CompuCare PC cleaner and the CompuCare spyware removal tool, promises to deliver on PC security and cyber security where even some of the better established brands in the United States and other Western blocs have failed.

The three flagship products, which are already available for beta download at www.computercare.online was developed by Computer Care-Guyana, a software development company that is owned by Guyana-born international writer and software security engineer Dennis E. Adonis.

Upon download and installation of the antivirus software, users will be able to test drive it freely for a period of 14 days before deciding whether to purchase a one year PC protection licence.

A similar option is also available for the PC cleaner and the spyware remover, which allows a limited try before you buy option.

The entire range of software, which took about two years of research and development, and a US$250,000 price tag, has already received the relevant publisher verification seal from Microsoft for safe installation on the Windows range of operating systems.

It is now being allocated for download via a number of localized digital markets in North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia, where more than half a million beta testers have already expressed an interest in trying out the new PC cleaner and antivirus product.

Country specific editions are also being finalized for several Caribbean countries, including The Bahamas and Curacao, where the company is also launching three customer service outlets in August.

Questioned on his strategy to make the product available to the public prior to its official launch date, developer Dennis Adonis said that he wants users to properly scrutinize his company’s software range (before it is released), and take it on a side-by-side virus scan or PC scan with any of the others including McAfee, Avast or AVG.

He asserted that, in the end, the top tier performance of his product will speak for itself.

However, he agreed that it can take somewhere between one to five years before the software suite can actually gain adequate global interest, and enough international scrutiny in order to align itself around the other established brands.

“International confidence in your product is a long term process, and an unavoidable challenge that I have already geared up my mind for,” he said.

Adonis added that his technological vision had always been one that is centered on the building of software applications that can actually hunt down hard to find viruses and spyware on a computer network. Moreover, a software suite that actually offers country-specific protection against hackers and spies.

And in his view, the CompuCare software security range is offering PC users just that and more.

The software products are scheduled to be launched at the developer’s offices in Guyana on July 14, followed by a corporate launch in The Bahamas and Dubai on August 4 and 10, respectively.
