Letter: The horrific discovery of the body of WPC Nyasha Joseph
Published on March 17, 2017Email To Friend    Print Version

Dear Sir:

Waajihatul Islaamiyyah (The Islamic Front) is deeply appalled by the horrific discovery of the body of WPC Nyasha Joseph still clad in her Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) uniform. This dastardly act was aimed at terrorizing and usurping the trust, peace and safety of our spaces.

The very fabric of our society woven on a foundation of respect and tolerance was ripped apart as the life of WPC Nyasha Joseph was snuffed out. This signals a clear indication of where our society is heading as absolutely no respect was shown to the TTPS uniform and the institution it represents.

Waajihatul Islaamiyyah (The Islamic Front) is calling on the acting commissioner of police to leave no stone unturned investigating this brutal crime and to bring the perpetrators to account. This should be a lesson to all of us as it amplifies the importance of all sectors of society coming together and working together in bringing about a culture of peace and lawfulness in this twin island state of ours.

Waajihatul Islaamiyyah (The Islamic Front) wants to take this opportunity to applaud the dedicated hard work of those law enforcement officers who continue to sacrifice of their lives to protect and serve us.

Umar Abdullah
Head of Waajihatul Islaamiyyah (The Islamic Front)
