Letter: Pay attention!
Published on March 14, 2017Email To Friend    Print Version

Dear Sir:

Fellow citizens of Trinidad and Tobago, democracy the world over has taken on a new face. Its metamorphosis has engulfed us here as well. Trinidad and Tobago has evolved into playing a more crucial role in the process but is allowing itself to be overpowered and subdued to accepting a less than an important role.

Democracy as we know it is no longer a system of government based on representation; this rule of the people, by the people, for the people, is perishing at the hands of our governments imposing of draconian laws, tyrannical rule and dictatorship practices. Do not fall prey to their deviant deceptions and charismatic speeches.

Our destruction or our success depends on the decisions our leaders make and consequently our guided reactions. Please be forever attentive and don't ever lose sight of our purpose and our objective.
