Letter: The liars, saboteurs and traitors!
Published on January 2, 2017Email To Friend    Print Version

Dear Sir:

Lennox Linton and Thomson Fontaine of the United Workers Party of Dominica have consistently recycled their lies on Dominica’s Economic Citizens Programs. The genesis of these lies arose from the love affair between Thomson Fontaine and Weekly Blitz from Bangladesh some years ago. Weekly Blitz published a ton of misinformation and lies fed to them by one Jeremy St Claire, a ‘person’ known only to Fontaine. The star lie was the sale of passports to criminals on the run including a Daewood Ibrahim who had purchased passports under Dominica’s citizenship program.

Please follow the following documents.

Document 1: An email from Linton to one Jeremy Sinclair dated 14th November and the immediate reply from Thomson Fontaine

On 11/14/11, thomson fontaine <thomsonfontaine@gmail.com> wrote:

Thanks very much for sharing this. Like you, I am a bit worried that throwing these allegations out there can harm rather than help the cause.

In fact Tony is already trying to paint us all in the same brush, which could actually hurt us all.

I have always maintained the need to have proof before going public and hence the reason why I have not made mention of the Blitz stories in theDominican.net.

This serialized, alarmist reporting of salacious, explosive allegations with no evidence (or at best, evidence that remains under the hat of the Weekly Blitz editor) simply does not cut it. I don't know what has motivated Shoaib Choudhury to take this keen an interest in the governance affairs of Dominica. What I do know is that this recently surfaced WB factor is on the verge of destroying the credibility of a genuine patriotic movement on the ground in Dominica for the benefit of the same Skerrit and the same Astaphan the WB editor has been holding up to international ridicule in recent days…

Note. Linton emailed ‘Jeremy St Claire’ and Fontaine responded. This exchange between Lennox Linton and Thomson Fontaine establishes that in November 2010 Linton and Fontaine knew there was no evidence to substantiate these allegations of the sales of passports to criminals.

Document 2: An email dated May 3, 2012, written By Dr J St Jean on behalf of Thomson Fontaine.

Subject: Proposed Framework for Settlement Statement from Dr. Fontaine
To: roosevelt.skerrit@gmail.com

May 3rd 2012

Dr. Peter K. B. St. Jean

Hon. Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit
roosevelt.skerrit@gmail.com

Dear Prime Minister Skerrit,

Thank you for your quick response regarding my latest communication to you on yesterday in reference to the potential mediation between you and Dr. Thomson Fontaine. I completed a phone call with Dr. Fontaine, and he is prepared to settle with a public published statement, written from his own voice, and communicates the following points:

1. …...

2. Indicate that another source created scandalous information about you. He is prepared to admit that he directed a few people to the source of such third party information on the internet. …...

3. He will identify clearly what he said while making reference to the scandalous items of information created by the third party, and denounce them as inconclusive to his knowledge. Even now he is reluctant to mention them since he continues to maintain that at no time did he state those things or had any knowledge of them. Indicate that he has no such facts on those particular accusations.

4. Clearly state that if he were the third party, he would not have published such statements without facts and that he would not want such unfounded scandals said about him, if he were you. In that context it is understandable that you feel aggrieved.

5. That both the issues that he raised, and the scandalous information by third party sources became erroneously attributed to him, and in a sense, made victims of both of you….

He was wrongly attributed the authorship of the most venomous accusations levied at you.

6. Solution: As a way to help prevent such misunderstandings from occurring in the future, you and he agree to have open lines of direct communication to clarify information and resolve issues at early stages.

If you would accept such a public statement addressed to you in the general tone as outlined above, Dr. Fontaine would then prepare such a statement for your review, and comments. He will then revise where necessary to the point of a mutually agreed upon document.

In mutual exchange of your acceptance of the statement, and his public publication thereof, you will withdraw all pending suits against him regarding this matter, and said agreement will undergo the necessary procedures to become legally binding and final.

You will both have mutually placed this unpleasant situation behind you.

Signed
Dr. Peter K. B. St. Jean

Document 3: An email from the Editor of Weekly Blitz dated 24t 12 2011

…After hearing the story of Ms. Priya, we requested Mr. Amit Kumar Bhowmick to provide us some more information and evidence on what he claimed and at that moment he told us that, Dawood Ibrahim got Dominica passport and he referred us to Mr. Jeremy Sinclair, who, according to Advocate Amir Kumar Bhowmick is an operative of British MI-5 and personal friend of British Prime Minister David Cameroon.

3. When we contacted Mr. Jeremy Sinclair to get information as to how Dawood Ibrahim got Dominica passport, he referred us to Mr. Fontain's web site named www.thedominican.net, and he contributed a story about Dawood getting Dominica passport. We, considered Mr. Jeremy Sinclair to be an honest person and his information to be prolific - published the story in Blitz with his name as the contributor…

In this email, the Editor of Weekly Blitz said the source of this Dawood lie came from Sinclair and Fontaine. He went on to say that he was misled by Sinclair and his gang, which no doubt included Fontaine.

Document 4: Excerpts from Linton’s interview with Huffington Post in 2015.

Q by HP: Speaking of evidence, the last thing I heard, [UWP member] Thomas Fontaine and the government were taking each other to court over his allegation that suspected terrorist mastermind Dawood Ibrahim had acquired a Dominican passport. Since then, nothing. What's happening there?

A by LL :The government don't want this court case to move forward. They have too much to hide.

Q by HP: But where is the evidence that Dawood Ibrahim got a Dominican passport?

A by LL: My understanding is that Thomas Fontaine received a tip-off.

Let’s be clear. Linton’s evidence on the alleged sale to Daewood Ibrahim is a tip received by Fontaine. This is the very same Fontaine who Linton had previously told that there was no evidence to substantiate the allegations made by Weekly Blitz, and which Fontaine was dishonestly feeding the Nation and Diaspora.

The unpatriotic and treacherous acts

These three documents, and in particular document 4, establish conclusively that Lennox Linton, the political leader, and Fontaine, are dangerous, dishonest and pathological liars.

In November 2011 Linton told Sinclair (AKA) Thomson Fontaine that

This serialized, alarmist reporting of salacious, explosive allegations with no evidence (or at best, evidence that remains under the hat of the Weekly Blitz editor) simply does not cut it.

The equally dangerous liar Fontaine replied

Thanks very much for sharing this. Like you, I am a bit worried that throwing these allegations out there can harm rather than help the cause.

In fact Tony is already trying to paint us all in the same brush, which could actually hurt us all.

I have always maintained the need to have proof before going public and hence the reason why I have not made mention of the Blitz stories in theDominican.net.

In 2012 Fontaine instructed Dr St Jean to email the Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit to, among other things,

Indicate that he has no such facts on those particular accusations.

In 2015 in response to a question about the sale of passports to criminals Linton said

My understanding is that Thomas Fontaine received a tip-off.

This is a perfect example of the crass and deliberate dishonesty of Linton. Having warned Fontaine in 2011 that the absence of evidence was damaging them, he relies on a tip to Fontaine in 2015 when caught in the rat trap set by the Huffington Post.

Despite their unequivocal admissions of no evidence, which were documented in emails, Linton and Fontaine continued their campaign of lies, and attempts to sabotage our citizenship programs with the intentional and deliberate lie that Dominica sold a passport to Daewood Ibrahin and other criminals on the run. Fontaine even said Daewood travelled to London on a Dominican passport. This after his email to Linton in which he admitted there was no evidence whatsoever.

On Friday December 30, 2016, I called Linton unpatriotic, a traitor to the nation and economic terrorist for dragging his dishonest and corrupt campaign against our citizenship programs and our nation on CBS 60 Minutes. I repeat these descriptions today. These emails and the excerpts provide just a part (not the whole picture) of the compelling reasons why I believe Lennox Linton is a liar, a saboteur and traitor to our nation, and wholly disqualified to be a Member of Parliament. Linton and Fontaine must be publicly condemned.

I also believe, subject to further research on my part, and the advice of the attorney general, Linton and Fontaine should be censured by the Parliament of Dominica for their disgraceful conduct and actions especially in the face of their own admissions that no evidence existed for the allegations made by them..
