Published on April 24, 2013 Email To Friend    Print Version

CASTRIES, Saint Lucia -- United Airlines will launch weekly, non-stop service from Newark/New York to Saint Lucia on a Boeing 737-800 aircraft for the added convenience of travelers in the Northeast and many of the island's top US markets.

Departing Saturdays from New Jersey's Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) to Hewanorra International Airport (UVF), the new service will commence on Saturday July 13, 2013.

“This new partnership with United Airlines will help make Saint Lucia even more accessible for travelers from many of the island’s major gateways in the northeast, mid-west and west coast as well as provide added convenience for connections with a number of new markets," said Louis Lewis, director of tourism for the Saint Lucia Tourist Board.

Flights will depart Newark Liberty International Airport on Saturdays at 8:55am, arriving at Hewanorra at 1:48pm; return flights on Saturdays will depart Saint Lucia at 2:38pm and are scheduled to arrive in Newark at 7:33pm.

The new service provides convenient connections at Newark Liberty to 22 key US cities including, Chicago, Boston, and Washington, DC, as well to the major Canadian gateways of Ottawa and Quebec.

“As one of the Caribbean’s most desirable destinations, Saint Lucia is a welcome addition to United’s network in the region,” said Millie Uriarte, United’s director, Latin America Onshore and Caribbean Sales.
