St Maarten Golf Association to host 22nd annual Open
Published on March 27, 2014 Email To Friend    Print Version

PHILIPSBURG, St Maarten -- The St Maarten Golf Association (SMGA) will host its 22nd St Maarten Open on April 26-27, 2014.

This year's open expects more than 80 players in attendance hailing from St Maarten/St Martin and other Caribbean islands such as Anguilla, Antigua, Aruba, Curacao, Guadeloupe, St Kitts and the US Virgin Islands as well as Europe and the US.

The open is held to aid the local St Maarten community, with the majority of the proceeds donated to local organizations.

The St Maarten Open also assists in funding the SMGA Junior Golf program, which teaches children the basics of the game in an after-school program. Qualified junior golfers can also enhance their skills through professional instruction.
