Email To Friend Print Version | BASSETERRE, St Kitts (CUOPM) -- The cost of shipping to St Kitts and Nevis and other Caribbean islands from the United States is to increase.
Tropical Shipping has announced plans to implement a general rate increase for shipments between the continental US, Canada, the US Virgin Islands, Tortola, Virgin Gorda, Dominican Republic, Anguilla, Antigua, Barbados, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Nevis, St Barth’s, St Kitts, St Lucia, St Maarten, St Vincent and Trinidad.
“Increases will take effect September 16 in the amount of $125 per 20-foot equipment and $250 per 40-foot equipment, with other hikes for vehicles and breakbulk cargo,” Tropical Shipping said in a statement at the weekend.
The shipping company said the increases will apply to all open tariff and service contract rates for dry and refrigerated cargo.

Peter:
This will bring a big hike in food and commodity prices in SVG. It will also bring initial extra import duty and tax's into the government coffers, because duty is not just applied to an item, it is added to the item and freight lumped together. Yes that’s right the government is charging us duty and tax on freight.
After this extra revenue for the government, it will eventually cause a drop in revenue for them as the market adjusts to prices and imports drop.
What a shame that under the GONSALVES Marxist ULP regime, agriculture has all but been destroyed, increase in agricultural output could help stem the need to import.
We cannot even ask the US for food aid, the ALBA has banned the very US agency who administers such, from all ALBA countries.
The cost of shipping for these shipping companies was increased when GONSALVES introduced his cousins tug boat into the equation. Forcing shipping lines to use the Ken Boyea tug boat at the rate of thousands of dollars. But I suppose we must provide for the Gonsalves extended family. |
| Simon Anderson:
PETER, WHAT ARE YOU SMOKING?
PUMPKIN EATER, why are you so delusional?
EDUCATION: In Primary School, what class did you leave school in?
Pumpkin Eater, you were thrown out of Primary School when I was completing my GCE "A" LEVELS. |
| Simon Anderson:
The above article concerned rate hikes to ALL CARIBBEAN DESTINATIONS!
Peter chose to disregard this and attempted to make it look like St Vincent is the only country which would face increased prices to their nationals. What dishonesty!
This individual, and those of his ilk simply cannot see beyond the tips of their noses.
They have one agenda, and one only. That is, to terminate the Gonsalves-led ULP government in St Vincent's management of the economy.
Yes we have our financial challenges, but which country on this planet does not?
Anything this government does, or does not do, comes in for uncalled-for criticism from Peter and company.
Peter behaves like the workman who has only one tool. A hammer.
...Everything looks like a nail to him! |
| Peter:
COOeeeeeeeeeeeeee! SIMON ANDERSON, everyone in SVG and the World knows that there are financial problems everywhere.
What many people do not know is how those problems have been compounded in SVG. That's why I wrote the following, of which every word is true. Why have you not addressed what I wrote, as usual your just plain dishonest.
I wrote

Now ANDERSON, instead of attacking the messenger, seeing as all that I wrote is true, how about some honest comment. |
| Simon Anderson:
PUMPKIN EATER, why don't you go and get some education before you start corresponding with me? |
| Peter:
COOeeeeeeeeeee! SIMON ANDERSON, would Humber College do? |
| Simon Anderson:
Peter, that would be a STARTING POINT. You would then have to gain acceptance to a four-year degree at Brooklyn College.
After that, a Masters degree would be acceptable.
THEN WE COULD TALK AS EQUALS. |
| Peter:
COOeeeeeeeee! SIMON ANDERSON, no we can't talk as equals, because you were always inferior to me educationally in every way, I surpassed you at all levels.
What I really would like to know is, how you have ended up posting all these lies and crap? what went wrong?
In any case I prefer you as a man hiding behind a false name and identity, it will save you considerable embarrassment to the world at large.
Why did you sell your soul to the devil? |
| Simon Anderson:
PETER, AH MEAN BRIAN ALEXANDER, HOW DID YOU ARRIVE WITH THAT NAME....PETER?
Are you Brian Peter Alexander?
Or are you Peter Brian Alexander?
I think I prefer that last one, so that is the one I will use, unless you tell me otherwise, OK?
So Peter Brian Alexander, why did the Police come to your job today?
Brian, why did they throw you in the back of the Squad Truck and carry you to the Big House?
Brian Alexander, what questions did they ask you?
Did they ask about the missing money from PH Veira? |
