Restore the peace; restore the love; restore the kindness; Restorative Justice
Like a show, life must go on.
Restore the victim and the one who did the wrong.
Do you think we all deserve a second chance?
To be restored in society and advance?
“Tell me now my brothers; is this what you really believe?
Restore offenders. No! They ought to get beat.
If a man harmed your mother, wouldn’t you want to see him face the guillotine?
You wouldn’t want him to get a second change to achieve.
Restorative Justice isn’t justice to me”
What if the wrong doer shows real remorse, man?
You don’t need to be so unforgiving and coarse, man!
Think about the victims on the other hand.
RJ can help them to overcome the injury and understand...
Some offences are too gruesome for perpetrators to be restored.
But if possible, the perpetrators should make peace with the victims for sure.
Even if we imprison the offenders, they still would have left a community torn.
If the offenders don’t make peace with the community, it will be torn forevermore.
Let the offenders make amends with the community.
Let’s understand why the crime was committed so we can see
how to stop it for happening to you and me.
Jamaica needs an increase in reason, rather than an increase in enmity.
In its circles of amnesty, RJ will give rise to greater national unity and prosperity.
