Open letter to Markie Spring

Print Version | Dear D. Markie Spring:
It is no secret that both of us are friends, and it is no secret that I have a great deal of respect for you, even before you had developed a political opinion. I know, like me you love the country of your birth and have so proven in your writing. But you, as an objective voice, have got to be very careful with the speed at which you lend your pen to congratulate and endorse the actions of men who have developed a track record of national selfishness; a selfishness that has contributed in the exploitation of our people based on their political opinion (not affiliation) and their quest for justice.
Let me take this opportunity to tell you, why I write this letter. This letter was motivated by your article, which was published on this forum on 17 January 2012, and was captioned: “Reconciliation: A sacrament of penance and paramount from the heart!”
My friend, I understand your feelings. You, like many others, are so tired of the political fighting among our people that any sign of hope and or good will is welcomed; and in your desperation to see meaningful change in St Vincent and the Grenadines, you become like a drowning man clutching at a straw.
One thing I learnt over my years of living is the only thing that can truly change the nature of a man’s character (that which he has spent his life time developing) is Yahweh. And even those who were/are divinely touched have a tendency to slide back and become engulfed in the behaviour of the past.
Do you really believe this is evidence of real change in the attitude and character of Ralph E. Gonsalves? I say no. There is something else that motivates Gonsalves’ action to withdraw the civil litigation that was brought against Mr Eustace and Mr Cummings.
Not because a leopard has taken the time to paint or disguises his spots means that he no longer has spots. Markie, my brother, I know for many years now that conscious minded Vincentians like us have been looking and hoping that things in our blessed land will change; but I hate to be the one to inform you that Gonsalves’ recent actions are not signs or evidence of change. I truly think that this article is/was very premature.
Brother Spring, we as the voice of principle have to be ever careful and mindful that in our rush to blow the trumpet to signal it is safe, we are not setting up our people (the people who listen to and rely on our guidance) to lower their guard, only to be met with lurking unseen danger.
This article is a well written article; however, I will wait for the evidence of real change, some sincere public apologies will tickle my fancy. For a man who has experienced real change will not have any problem admitting that he was wrong, has done wrong and is willing to say sorry. Until then beware.
PS -- I notice that, now you have blown the trumpet of Ralph E. Gonsalves, Kojo and Simon think you are a hero. Tell me what will happen when you are shaken back into reality; and like a beacon, you once again begin to light the path away from the danger that is Ralph, will they remember that you are one who wrote from your heart and not because you don’t like Mr R.E. Gonsalves or will they once again begin to accuse you of lying and refuse to discuss the issues?
Yes, Simon, I know, it is your same old story that you cut and paste: Allan Palmer is a liar, blah, blah, blah.

Wade Kojo Williams Sr: __
AT ALLAN PALMER:
Mr Palmer, which of the three (following) posts in this thread suggests to you that Kojo thinks dotish Markie Spring is a hero?:
POST ONE:
Wade Kojo Williams Sr:
@ Simon Anderson, et al:
Over the years, I have taken a lot of abuse here on CNN, FaceBook and elsewhere, because of my public support for De Comrade.
His latest decisions, all in the name of healing of the nation, do not come as a surprise.
At the Swearing In Ceremony in April 2001, Dr. Gonsalves called for "Together Now". He was sincere then as he is sincere now. Why? Because several known NDP supporters are still in their senior positions working daily to undermine the ULP government.
Contrary to the lies of Arnhim Eustace and his half-idiots in the NDP, there has been no victimization under the Comrade. There is no discrimination against NDP children in the education system In deed, as I recall, one of the Prime Minister's senior economic/financial advisers is a known NDP supporter. Yet, that individual is always praised by Gonsalves for outstanding performance in office.
I could go on and on. I may not know the Prime Minister on a personal basis, but I know him well in politics to continue to believe in this "Great" Man of God.
I continue to believe it was Divine intervention that brought Ralph Gonsalves to the office of Prime Minister. I believe it is Divine intervention that gave him three successive mandates. No Prime Minister in the region, having gone down so hard in the November 25, 2009 Referendum could have won the 2010 election, especially in hard global economic times.
Markie Spring does not know Ralph Gonsalves, hence he (Spring) attacks him with his dotish writings so frequently.
POST TWO:
Wade Kojo Williams Sr:
@ ALLAN PALMER:
Mr Palmer, I fully expected you to prove me a liar by citing examples of victimization and discrimination. But you did not. Why? Because you cannot.
Seems you only wanted another excuse to attack me for supporting the man you have made an enemy.
Mr. Palmer, I leave you with the following quote from Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.:
"Love is creative and redemptive. Love builds up and unites; hate tears down and destroys. The aftermath of the 'fight fire with fire' method which some suggest, is bitterness and chaos. The aftermath of the love method, is reconciliation and creation of the beloved community. Physical force can repress, restrain, coerce and destroy, but it cannot create and organize anything permanent. Only love can do that. Yes, love -- which means understanding, creative, redemptive goodwill, even for one's enemies -- is the solution to our problem."
Peace and Love!!
POST THREE:
Wade Kojo Williams Sr:
@ Hon Markie Spring, Prime Minister of Basinhole:
There is one reason why you commended Prime Minister Gonsalves. You are looking for a pick to be a Presenter at the Peaceful Caribbean Conference to be held in Barbados in April.
[There is a sign on Facebook that states... "One must connect his tongue to his brain before the opens up his mouth!"]
Based on the nonsense you have been Writing on FB, you should take note.
Peace and Love

| D. Markie Spring, MBA, B.Comm: I welcome your honest and well-thought of comments concerning my last article. Truly, you are a friend and I appreciate the viewpoint.
Especially, the third paragraph of your article sums up it up well with more spices in the sixth.
I felt the same way you do and many more friends contacted me on Facebook and MSN to warn me in the same manner; however, his gesture seemed to be on the right path to solving some of our "pull-push" problems whether its sincere or pretence.
Palmer, I thank you for the article and you should focus on my response and forget about the rest. It is evident that he does not have anything to offer. As I was reading the "Dotish" comments I realized that this person is too busy to even put some originality in his responses. The same old monotonous gorgons. Only two people copy and paste the same responses every week, or maybe its the same person "all-in-one"
It is sad that they are the people who govern our country. Have you seen, ever, where these political giants mention "the people" for a change? Never, it about them and defaming the other. But their words go down the drains like dirty water - no impact on me.
My friend you are right, I am desperate to see changes and the least resemblance to such immediately caught my attention!
Palmer, I cannot stress more, only a friend would write such an article like you did. I view it as goodwill and accurate.
However, I will continue to support good governance and constructively critique bad decisions.
Again thank you!! |
| Simon Anderson:
Two liars meet again.
Markie Spring and Allan Palmer.
They need each other -- like peas in a pod.
Just imagine Allan Palmer "ADVISING" Markie Spring.
I started the ball rolling though, with my "OPEN LETTER" on this forum. Like a DUNCE BOY in class, Allan Palmer has copied from me.
That is alright though. Somebody has to lead, and someone has to follow.
Keep following me Palmer, you are in the right place. Stay there!
Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. |
| Grace Black:
Simple Simon, when will you and your friend Quick to get the government phones cut off learn some senses. I can see you are trying to draw Allan Palmer into a debate in order to distract him from the addressing issues like Camillo Gonsalves Saga the long and short of it; the real issues that need his attention, however it seems like Mr. Palmer is doing as he always say; ignoring ignorance. Simon that is all you are spewing ignorance, and that make you nothing short of an idiot with a computer; a slave control by a dishonest master, an addicted to deceitful association. I must comment Palmer for not wasting his breath to address your idiotic comments that you have been cutting and pasting.
Now you accuse this gentleman of lying, I will step in here and speak on Allan's part, Palmer is not one to lie not even to save his own skin. You have been hiding under the ugly disguise of anonymity from since you come onto CNN. If I recall correctly; Allan write and article suggesting that he know who you are, however he just stop short of revealing who he thinks you are, and he did so for reason which he explained, however; he give us some clues to aid in the public to understand who you are. You did not suggest he was wrong but suggest he was lying. How much more stupid can you get. Simon Anderson you are so foolish you don't know the difference from being wrong and lying. And the world trusts you with a pen. Ha ha ha ha. As country man (whoever he is) say idiot Simon Anderson, it is better for you to keep that stink box of a mouth you have there close and let people think you are a fool, than to connect it to your brain and open it and convince the entire world that you are a blasted idiotic, nonescopiotic, caca-head fool.
Now you see what you make me do. Step down into the gutter with a doatish fool like you. Strupsssss
