“Tourism Week 2012 celebrations under the theme ‘Tourism: Linking Generations, Bridging Cultures’, will support the island’s most vital industry, and will feature a range of events to celebrate the contributions of the sector,” commented the premier.

The 10-day celebrations kicked off on Friday with a cultural parade.

A church service on Sunday will form part of the program, followed later in the afternoon by horseracing at the Indian Castle Race Track.

On Monday, the official Tourism Week address will be delivered on local radio and there will be talks in schools focused on the theme. An art exhibition and sale opens on the same day at the Nevisian Artisan Village, and will run through Friday.
