Montserrat development earns Americas property award
Published on July 24, 2014 Email To Friend    Print Version

BRADES, Montserrat -- The Montserrat Development Corporation has been informed that its Marine Village development at Little Bay is among the winners in the Americas regional stage of the prestigious International Property Awards 2014-15. Recognized in the Leisure Development category, Montserrat’s Marine Village competed against a number of high-profile property developers in the Caribbean region to earn this distinction.

“We are extremely proud to receive the Americas Property Award, particularly as the Marine Village is our recently completed first phase development project within our master plan for a new capital city for the island of Montserrat,” said Montserrat Development Corporation chief executive, Ivan Browne. “This early recognition by an international panel of experts validates for us and our present and future development partners that we are on the right track as our journey to self-sustainable economic growth continues.”

All award winners have been invited to attend a gala and presentation dinner in Los Angeles on Friday September 19, where they will learn exactly which honours they have secured.

If the Montserrat Development Corporation is the highest-scoring winner in its region, it will automatically be entered into the International Property Awards final competition and compete against all other regional winners for the coveted title of World’s Best.

The Americas Property Award represents a significant achievement for the Montserrat Development Corporation, as its logo will now be recognized as a symbol of excellence throughout the industry. All competition entrants are rigorously assessed by a judging panel consisting of over 70 highly respected experts from around the globe, chaired by three active members of the House of Lords: Lord Caithness, Lord Best and Lord Courtown.

Along with its award-winning Marine Village, Montserrat Development Corporation’s master plan for growth, which is spearheading the beautiful Eastern Caribbean island’s rebirth, includes a new capital city featuring a port, marina, marine service center, commercial and residential properties, and a centerpiece luxury hotel.

The island’s geothermal energy program is progressing with two recently drilled wells and a third on the way that will produce cost efficient and self-sustainable electricity and enhance the already attractive investment opportunities for those who share in MDC’s vision of an eco-friendly capital.
