By Nerissa Golden

BRADES, Montserrat (GIU) -- The Policy and Planning Division in the Cabinet Secretariat has now released the final versions of three reports that look at Montserrat’s living conditions.

The three reports are: The Government of Montserrat and the Caribbean Development Bank Final Report Country Poverty Assessment Volume 2. Supplementary Material July 2012; Montserrat Survey of Living Conditions (MSLC) Executive Summary; and the Government of Montserrat and the Caribbean Development Bank Final Report Montserrat Survey of Living Conditions, 2009 Volume 1. Main Report July 2012.

The Policy and Planning Division coordinated the research and surveys that led to the final documents. During 2012, consultations were held with local stakeholders to gather their views on the findings. The reports identify the extent, characteristics and causes of poverty in Montserrat; evaluate the effectiveness of current policies and programmes in terms of their impact on the poor and vulnerable groups of the population and makes recommendations for future policies and programmes to contribute to the reduction of poverty in the country.

All of the reports can be downloaded on the government of Montserrat website under publications from the Cabinet Secretariat at www.gov.ms
