This is no surprising development. This writer (and others) saw it coming for some time now.

Bogus refugee claims by several hundred Vincentians, I am sure, contributed to the Canadian government’s decision. Did the letters of support from opposition politicians and SVG’s government official in Toronto, to persons illegally seeking refugee status, play a role in Canada’s decision? Perhaps. But our prime minister’s refusal to become directly involved in the bogus refugee application scheme, when requested so to do, may also have been a factor, as Canada deliberated on the visa imposition.

Also, there is the fact that many other Caribbean countries questioned why St Vincent and the Grenadines and St Lucia did not have visa requirement slapped on their (SVG and St L) citizens, as done to theirs.

Mr “Bigger Biggs” Says He Is No Politician

Is Leon “Bigger Biggs” Samuel, holding farmers (and others) to ransom, as he seeks to resolve his issues with authorities in SVG?

Mr “Bigger Biggs” says he is not a politician. He may be right. But certainly, a political activist he has been for many years now.

It is said the businessman has contributed significantly to both major political parties over the years. That is his constitutional and democratic right. No one should move to take away that right from Mr “Bigger Biggs”.

It is also the right of farmers to have access to their lands. They must make a living for themselves and their families.

If the road which runs through Mr “Bigger Biggs” “private property” provides the only access to the lands of the farmers, the government must act swiftly. Either have Mr “Bigger Biggs” agree to allow the farmers access to their lands at all times or acquire the portion of land which is now Mr Bigger Biggs’ “private property” and have it used as a public road.

Mr “Bigger Biggs” should not be allowed to hold farmers to ransom, in order to have his other outstanding issues resolved.

Any move by the government’s to have farmers gain access to their lands seems reasonable and doable to this writer. It may be seen by some as politics… only because they want to play politics with each and every issue. But what is the government’s responsibility to all concerned here?

The bank was asked to change the money into EC$s, after due consideration the called his relative and told him to take the US$s away, refusing to change it. Days and weeks afterwards ULP relatives and friends began turning up at banks with smaller sums of US money and banking it. ULP government official walked about with a huge roll of US$ bills in his pocket, removing it occasionally to pay bills in bars and shops.

If you banked large amounts which you do not usually bank of US cash, the bank would call the police on you.

There are children unable to go to school because they have no food, no bus fares, no uniform’s, no books, WHY? because their parents have no money. Yet all that money being shared between people who already have money and jobs, that million dollar share out.

He signed a contract with teachers union, told the teachers it was the best contract they ever had. When teachers tried to enforce parts of the contract he told them it was unconstitutional and therefore unenforceable.

He told the teachers they were only a few and if the didn’t vote for him it would not affect the outcome of any election, ULP would still be elected.

There is a large contingent of people from Sandy Bay who go to Canada every year for the fruit picking season. Returning to SVG every year at the end of September with enough money to keep them and their families through to the following May.

1. Previously, “Simon Anderson” accused Peter of stealing money from the Ottley Hall project – Peter did not respond to that. However, since public information was posted here Horace Williams decided to eventually surface leaving “Simon Anderson” to fend for himself. Horace Williams reminded Peter that he had asked him a question concerning the Ottley Hall project money and Peter never responded. Now remember readers that this question was asked by “Simon Anderson” before he decided to change back his name to Horace Williams. We must take heed when people hide behind false names, backgrounds and temperaments. “Simon Anderson” who relentlessly caused mischief on this institute was identified as being Horace Williams of Couls Hill in St Vincent and the Grenadines – he denied. He knew that if we exposed him that he will not be able to disrupt meaningful debates, cause mischief, and insult and defame the names of good people – for the obvious reasons of personal benefits (and family to) and making his government looks good while Vincentians are suffering.
