Dear Sir:
This is a direct call to all NDC supporters, well wishers of the NDC, anti NNP people and in particular anti KCM. Now is the time to make your voices heard; loud and clear. KCM must never rule Grenada again. Let the elections of February 19, 2013, be the final nail in his coffin. He has never served Grenada’s interest and he must not be brought back to complete the destructive legacy he left behind five years ago. His 13 years reign was all about him and his cronies. They are eager to put their dirty little hands on Grenada’s resources once again to complete the rape and destruction of this beautiful nation’s economy. Only you have the power to stand up to him like you did in 2008, and the nation is counting on you to rise up like a sleeping giant and put an end to his political career.
Yes, I know that the NDC has had its woes over the past four and a half years. I fully feel the pain and shame you felt Mr and Mrs NDC supporter, well wishers of the party, patriotic Grenadians and all who braved KCM and his band of Green Beasts and courageously voted the NDC into office.
The NDC party was a disappointment. So much was promised and, yet so little was delivered. I know that the internal strife discouraged you and left you feeling helpless. Some of the people whom you entrusted your party to had another agenda, much to your astonishment. The internal war was bitter and severe and you vowed that you would not participate in any elections to put these people back into office. Yes, I get you. I had no quarrels with your decision at the time. Even now, I still understand you and respect your position. However, Grenada is in danger again and the nation is calling you to action.
The NNP and KCM, whom we thought were dead, have now been revived; thanks to the imposters who paraded as NDC candidates in 2008. All along they were in bed with KCM; that is why he proclaimed after his defeat that the NDC government was not going to last six months. He had inside information! That is why the government made a half-assed attempt to investigate him for all the allegations leveled against him during his tenure in office.
There were people in the government actively pushing the line that the people needed jobs, and not the prosecution of KCM. We all know that both were possible to do. How absurd that argument sounded? I guess you have the answer now, because the traitors have lined up with KCM and the NNP to hand the country over to him. How heartless? How deceitful? How unpatriotic? However, the party that they once claimed they loved is still standing, despite their shameful and unabashed embrace of KCM and the NNP.
The NDC has turned a new page and is pushing full steam ahead. The imposters who attempted to derail the NDC 2008 anti-NNP and KCM mandate have been expunged. They have been banished. They are no more. The NDC found the courage to banish them to the trash heap of history. The nation desperately needs your support again to banish KCM to the same garbage heap as the NDC rejects he teamed up with. They both belong together, so they must be buried together. They are the Romeo and Juliet of Grenada’s deceitful politics, so now they must abide together in political oblivion and infamy.
These NDC rejects have no character or morals, just as KCM they answer to the highest bidder. So sad to know that we once entrusted them with the well being of our party and even elected them to office. What a travesty that was. Hence they did absolutely nothing to advance the development of the NDC. Based on evidence now available, the fact that they are finding it easy to sympathize and fraternize with NNP confirms that part of their real intent was to reverse the victory of 2008 and pave the way for the return of NNP and KCM (their lord and master).
You must not let KCM off the hook here. If he is a real leader and someone of high moral character, he was going to steer clear of these troublemakers and political party wreckers. Think of the instability that will exist in government and the country if NNP, with the help of these political mercenaries get hold of the reins of power again. You have ample evidence of the mischief they caused in the NDC and how they paralyzed the government. You have to stop them at the ballot box on February 19, 2013. Put KCM and his band of rejects out to pasture where they belong.
The NDC party has had a rebirth and you should at least give them a chance. The renewed and revitalized NDC team has found its voice and has taken up the 2008 mandate again and has been able to attract the general sympathy of Grenadians of all persuasions. They deserve your confidence once more to complete and fulfill the mission started in 2008. One of those missions was to put an end to KCM and his brand of reckless, fly by night politics which did irreparable harm to Grenada’s economy. But as you realized the traitors in our midst opened the door again for him.
The NDC cannot be labeled with wrongdoing during their tenure in office. Their only problem was that the unity required for smooth functioning of the government was sadly lacking. There was no corruption or allegation of corruption. Whenever there was any sign of conflict of interest or questionable behaviour on the part of government officials, they were swiftly dealt with. Just ask the former attorney general or minister of works. Good governance was the order of the day and will be the watchwords going forward.
There is another important fact that should be considered by all patriotic registered voters. The coming of “KCM version 2.0 and NNP” will not be pretty. The man is out to put all those who had the courage to stand up to him and embarrassed him in 2008 in their place. He is vengeful. If you do not believe me, just ask the civil servants (permanent secretaries and others) from 1995 what he did to them when he took over the government. Yes, go ahead and ask the likes of Mrs Forsyth, Mr Joseph, Mr Duncan, Ms Lawrence, Mr Francis, Nolan Murry, Rita Joseph and others what he did to them.
His mantra then was ‘he needed people around in whom he can have confidence in.’ Some of his victims were suspended indefinitely from their positions; they were unceremoniously removed from their positions after years of distinguished independent professional service to the nation and replaced by his selected yes men and women ‘in whom he had confidence.’ I am sounding the warning again, the time is now to go out and vote to keep this vengeful man and his party out of office.
His supporters are just waiting for February 20 to come to show their colours again and do KCM’s bidding. They will not let you or your family rest for the next five years. They will not repeat the mistakes they made prior to 2008 and give anyone the opportunity to get them out of office in a hurry. You will be stuck with these people for at least 15 years. Yes, his first run was 13 years, what makes you believe he will not be there for another 15 years this time. Do not believe the NDC rejects who are telling you that they will replace him after five years. Good luck with that if you believe them. Stop him now! Do not let him get anywhere close to the seat of government.
Let us not repeat the mistake of 1995 when the people did not ‘appreciate’ the foundation laid by the NDC then, to restore Grenada’s creditworthiness and the number of developmental projects negotiated then, including a new hospital, and voted for NNP rather than renew the NDC mandate. The result of that NNP vote in 1995 is now well documented.
We endured 13 years of ‘a failed off-shore banking sector’; ‘will and deal speculative hotel and poultry projects’; ‘dodgy oil exploration arrangements (remember US oil tycoon Jack Grynberg’s RSM and the Russian dominated Global Petroleum)’; ‘abuse of ministerial, state and institutional power’ including the granting of questionable licenses (remember the photo of the ruby and CAP Bank) and the absence of regulations (SGL); massive public debt; the plethora of law suits, attacks on media workers including the ‘closure of a popular newspaper’ and the psycho-social and emotional stress and attacks on professional and independent minded civil servants ‘in whom KCM could not have any confidence’ and other perceived enemies of KCM.
Not to mention the “kick backs – finder’s fees and alleged payments for diplomatic postings ala ‘me dam money to offset travel and other expenses’; the ‘black listing of Grenada’ and the imposing of new visa requirements as a result of the lucrative ‘economic citizen’s and sale of passport programmes.’
Don’t let NNP and KCM get hold of the already negotiated projects and particularly the opportunity to put their hands on Grenada’s ‘oil and gas potential’, for which ‘they already have investors in waiting’ whom it seems are only willing to do business and invest in Grenada ‘if the NNP are voted back into office.’
How interesting, all patriotic Grenadians must take note. Prevent the Grenadian people from having to endure the psycho-social and emotional stress of having to deal with new instances of ‘vengeful acts, victimization, speculative, get rich quick and everybody has a price policies’ of the NNP and KCM.
We are all ‘battle weary’ and deserve a respite, after the last 39 post independence years. Allow the new look NDC Team to give us ‘the respite needed’ to concentrate on fulfilling the 2008 change project by renewing their mandate in 2013. On this the 39th anniversary of our independence, we have had enough struggle as a people. This nation needs leaders who are calm and level headed to take us to a place of sustained economic growth and building our national institutions. Not building a stadium instead of building a state of the art hospital to effectively offer quality health care to our people.
We need to develop institutions to foster the growth and development of our human resources; especially our youth. We need time to develop a comprehensive economic development plan, not pie in the sky pipe dreams with dubious investors whose only intent is to make a quick buck off our county while saddling us with mountains of debt. We need to rebuild the agricultural sector to earn hard currency for capital development. However, to do these things, we need time, we need peace and tranquility.
This constant struggles and battles with hot headed ‘maximum political leaders’ have sapped the nation’s collective energy. The people need a break from this constant warfare to remember what it means to be Grenadian again. They need peace and calm nationally to release their creative potential to put Grenada firmly back on track to take its rightful place among the ranks of developing nations.
Mobilize your friends and family and other patriotic Grenadians to vote in large numbers to keep the NDC in office. Keep the NNP and KCM out of office and away from the reins of power and a hold on the nation’s assets for the next five years and forever. At the same time, let the NDC candidate for your constituency know how much you detested the actions of party members during the period of infighting.
Also, let them know that you will personally hold them accountable this time around, up to and including organizing other constituency members to picket in-front of their offices to get your message across. They are never ever again going to take you for granted. You have the power to hire and fire them and you should not let them forget that.
These NDC candidates must know that you are not so much voting for them but only to keep out KCM and his party from gaining power. You did it in 2008 and you will do it one more time, because this beloved nation desperately needs a saviour at this time and you will rise to the occasion. Do whatever it takes to get to the polling station early on the 19th and let the nation know how much you care, by voting to keep out KCM from ever assuming office in Grenada.
February 19, 2013, will take its place in the annals of Grenadian history as one of those days that generations yet unborn will remember. This is a historic calling that you must not ignore. It is said that evil thrives when good people do nothing.
“One of the penalties for refusing to participate in politics is that you end up being governed by your inferiors.” [Plato 428-348 BC]
Thank you. May God eternally bless you and this fine nation!
