Letter: The real CIA: Chastanet's Irrelevant Absurdity
Published on May 8, 2014 Email To Friend    Print Version

Dear Sir:

A good playwright that features Bert and Ernie is brilliant to watch: unlike Allen Chastanet’s political adopted image, who cast himself in a role that is not really his real persona.

To make matters worse he does not know how to act. True actors require frequent changes of costume to act the part. But politicians of the ilk of Chastanet have to rampage a mix of expressions to hide his personality many times a day, depending on his location and human interaction. The occasion of the opening of the fourth session of the tenth parliament of Saint Lucia was a case in point.

If Chastanet was a ventriloquist, which Guy would be his best puppet?
Anyway, I would like to believe, just like Chastanet’s campaign slogan “time to believe” that symbolically revalidated insular interest, hidden behind a crafted persona that led constituency branches and delegates to believe that it was in their best interest to overthrow the King in a palace coup. As persons glance upon this act of colonial suppression, there is reason to believe that Chastanet’s absurdity has successfully killed the roots of the United Workers Party, (UWP) in full view of the public.

A sensible political actor would not have committed such a brazen act. The unending makeover actor in him should have learned some tricks from popular television cartoons by now. Knowing Chastanet to be a stump head, his actions to date are in line with his selfish overbearing ego and noble by his intellectual worth of his BMW mouth and his Mini Cooper size brain.

The greatest gift to that common trait is the creative crafting of a four to two parliamentary opposition that should have never happened if Chastanet had trimmed the branches, removed old foliage and allowed new leaves to flourish with the help of savvy, trusted and tried workers that know the battlefield. Oh no! Chastanet had to unleash his colonial inheritance in no uncertain terms to create a buffer for Kenny Anthony.

Had he not acted so asinine Kenny Anthony would be staring at the opposition benches with his 2014/2015 budget estimate and the indignity of having the governor general read a misfortune of a throne speech!

These bad acting roles by Chastanet have increasingly affirmed his while elephant status that have him clamouring and making funky claims for funding the dead broke party, in order to pay a long list of outstanding bills from last year’s convention, for votes purchased on credit and promises made to party insiders. This led to a senior scriptwriter’s resignation last month, and cutting of ties with the cast of Chastanet’s absurdity.

Lately a familiar mouthpiece of Chastanet’s cast of actors, mobilization officer Laura Jn Pierre, is on every talk show trying to create a presence. That act is by itself quite nauseating to listeners, but not so absurd as Chastanet and his cast of characters to claim support and endorsement by the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) among others. My remedy to this act of fantasy is a reclassification of the CIA initials, with all due respect to the real acronym, to Chastanet’s Irrelevant Absurdity (CIA).

I’ve been through the art of warfare, defeating ideology and totalitarianism, but Chastanet’s coalition of actors are Sunday school recurring characters that have the tendency to believe they have the exclusive version of political pluralism. As one who knows the battlefield, Chastanet’s irrelevant absurdity, his association by convenience, his bluff and totalitarian ideology is a fool’s act. Allen Chastanet’s impulsive fantasy to impose insular interest, selective pluralism, actors and scriptwriters or more unsavoury acts, to game the system, is tantamount to an indictable offence of public intoxication. At least from where am standing.
