Dear Sir:
Principle, tradition, truth, those are the secret code of Grenada’s New National Party leader, Dr Keith C. Mitchell. A man who has been cussed and discussed. Few people are aware of the demands made upon the man, the demands from party members, associates, for interviews, requests for appearances at many different benefits. The resultant anger and frustration of those he cannot possibly oblige. The demands placed upon him by Grenadians who want him to represent them as leader of this great country.
The people of Grenada are saying they know of no other political leader in Grenada whose generosity to them, those people in need is greater. The people of Grenada love Dr Keith Mitchell and his New National Party candidates. Mitchell, they say, is colourful, he’s generous, he shows his feelings. He’s unique, utterly without hypocrisy. Mitchell fascinates the curious, those who try to analyze an enigma that is not an enigma, perhaps hoping to discover those qualities responsible for the man’s personal appeal.
Well, I believe I know the qualities, truth, determination, Inspiration, and motivation. There is no greater political leader in Grenada than the doctor. We, the people of Grenada, extol his courage, his eloquence, his resilience, and his sense of caring for his people. It’s extraordinary how many uninvited people find it necessary to make personal remarks occasionally uncivil about him. What prompts them?
It is their need for attention. This is the constant plight of Dr Mitchell. It’s a sad paradox that the people whose acquaintance one would most like to make are the people least likely to introduce themselves. I have read innuendos about Mitchell that were so blatantly wrong that I was left staggered by those people’s imagination. It astonishes me and I bet it astonishes him also.
I’ve read more nonsense about Dr Mitchell than possibly anyone else. I have often wondered how he manages to contain himself but, then again, that’s how a true leader behaves and leads by example.
The kind of important things that engage Dr Mitchell and his team of New National Party candidates are the right to an education, to food, to having and holding a job, to having access to health care. Of course, being a politician, Mitchell claims that his and the NNP vision for Grenada’s society is uniquely Grenadian. He believes in school and colleges to train our workers and a great country like ours must protect and care for the vulnerable from life’s worst misfortunes.
With their vision for the tri-island, is not hard to share their optimism. The New National Party candidates, who aspire to run our country, are explaining to the citizens exactly what they plan to do and how they plan to do it. Grenadians voters deserve nothing less.
The Tillman Thomas NDC government mistakenly assumes that Nazim Burke has the scruples, loyalties and feelings of a healthy person. I think making those assumptions misses the point entirely about Burke. He is not normal; he’s a sociopath and a pathological liar. Nazim Burke and Tillman Thomas have gone from public-servant to self-servant. The people of Grenada must hold them accountable come election day. The New National Party wants to build Grenada’s future and invest in the generation that is going to do so. Most people in Grenada and abroad are worried that the New National Party would lose on “rigged election”. They believe Tillman Thomas NDC government will try to steal it.
Grenadians are not stupid, they will vote overwhelmingly to give the NNP the victory they deserve. The Thomas administration is trying to block Dr Mitchell every way they could. Mitchell motivates people. There is no excuse for failure if you strive for what you really want. When it comes to running for the honour to serve our country and its people again, he is balancing what is best for his colleagues, his people and his country. It’s about who can best represent Grenada. He is also mindful of the needs of Grenadian families and the consistent honesty and compassionate strength the nation’s serious economic challenges demands.
“There is much to cheer about as we look forward to working with my fellow New National Party colleagues to advance our super ambitious agenda. The state of things in Grenada right now is a testament to the disastrous failed policies of the Thomas NDC government. Everything you could have predicted going wrong with this government you have seen here,” said Mitchell.
By the time that February 19, 2013, comes along, the people of Grenada would make the transition as smoothly as possible, and the people would accept this New National Party victory. What a difference a day is going to make.
Mitchell’s hero is Jesus Christ, Jesus doesn’t ask for great things, but only for gratitude and self-surrender. “Grenadians we are asleep, and I mean fast asleep. The alarming clock is ringing loudly and we aren’t hearing it. This is the time, now is the time of fulfillment,” says Dr Keith Mitchell.
The New National Party candidates have the courage and compassion and kindness to respond to the plight of the Grenadian people who have taken a lot of abuse of late from the seemingly insatiably greedy and often ethically challenged NDC government. Most people would argue that Thomas and Burke are the guilty parties upon which Grenadians can vent their pent-up frustration.
Thomas NDC government has been an unprecedented disaster that ruined the lives of Grenadians through absolutely no fault of their own. Governments should be the solution, not the problem. It takes actions, not just good intentions to move government.
The leader of the New National Party and members of the party and candidates have put together a common sense plan that will help set the stage for an economic rebirth in Grenada. It feels great to be a resident of a country where the present leader of the opposition, former prime minister and leader of the New National Party, emphasizes the expansion and attraction of business to give all of us hope for additional employment and opportunities for our children. Our NNP candidates realize the importance of our youths and that our young people are leaders of tomorrow and must be trained efficiently. It’s not about the politicians; it’s about the New National Party government in action.
The New National Party’s simple and straightforward proposals are proving to be a bit of culture shock for Grenadians who still see the NDC officials as a national laughing stock of parliamentary gridlock and dysfunction. All Grenadians should be displeased with the NDC government willingness to ruin our country’s reputation. The New National Party wants to improve the lives of the downtrodden, which is a good thing. How a society treats its most vulnerable citizens is a time honored measurement of its humanity. Mitchell is again declaring his intellectual superiority, everywhere he looks, he’s finding support for his progressive ideologies.
Happy days are not here yet, but they are coming soon for the people of Grenada, Carriacou and Petit Martinique, from the 15 New National Party candidates, all winning their seats. Talk about a success story.
