Dear Sir:
The Grenada New National Party has always come out fighting for fairness frequently, mostly for the people of the tri-island state, occasionally for themselves. Grenadians of goodwill everywhere applaud our candidates’ generosity, none more enthusiastically than their supporters. I know of no other political party or politicians whose generosity to people in need is greater. This is no fluke. Dr the Hon Keith C. Mitchell has repeatedly shown himself to be a talented political impresario, tackling difficult initiatives and succeeding where others have failed. Let’s follow the Grenada New National Party candidate.
The New National Party is giving Grenadians reasons to actually feel proud about themselves and Grenada. The most remarkable phenomenon in Grenada politics in recent years have been the remodeling and modeling of political figures. No one in Grenada’s political scene epitomized the phenomenon more than former Prime Minister Keith Mitchell. He deserves a lot of credit for standing up and supporting the people of Grenada. Mitchell is the man who is leading the grass roots struggle to win over normally NDC voters.
In his soul is a source, an energy that motivates him, guides him and separates him from himself. He has an attitude that comes with success. That getting older is a gift of life and that every age has its compensations. We have to tune in to what is best about each stage of our lives, find out where we belong, and make the most of it.
A different Mitchell has emerged. He is campaigning assiduously for the leadership of the country. He seems far more of a prime minister figure as the year began than he did in the rough and tumble earlier days in office.
Dr Keith Mitchell, Nickolas Steele, Tobias Clemente, Alezandra Otway Noel, Gregory Bowen, John Alvin Dabreo, Clarice Modeste, Clifton Paul, Anthony Boatswain, Roland Bhola, Delma Thomas, Emmalin Pierre, Oliver Joseph, Yolande Bain-Horsford and Elvin Nimrod. All 15 candidates, should feel good about the strong stand they’ve taken to prevent more hurt, pain and suffering from Thomas NDC and so can the people of Grenada.
There can be no doubt of their commitment to dealing with the economy. Their mission is to provide the people of Grenada the best services, with efficiency professionalism and expertise. The candidates are highly knowledgeable and experience, what sets them apart from the NDC, is that they truly care about the less fortunate. A political party based on progressive principles, and must remain that progressive capital of the nation.
Mitchell who has remained highly popular among Grenadians and Caribbean nationals says, “The New National Party have been going straight all along, and I think we’ve been remarkably consistent here. We must ease the strain on our people who are waiting on relief from us.”
The people of Grenada are smart and intelligent, who knows how to make right decisions. We have been let down and left out in the cold by Tillman Thomas and Nazim Burke NDC government. Is it any wonder that the once proud nation of Grenada has become a laughing stock of the rest of the world for the last five years and that we elected a prime minister who cannot answer a question without a teleprompter? And worst government in Grenada’s history. Enough is enough; let’s rid ourselves of Czarist Thomas and Burke once and for all.
Thus the New National Party can begin the prime task of bringing stability to Grenada’s economy, expanding exports, and achieving overall economic rehabilitation. They will succeed in accomplishing what they set out to do. What Grenada needs today is a far reaching vision and the ability to assume Grenada’s rightful role in the ever widening arena of international relations. Soon our country will reject the past and all those NDC officials whose disastrous miscalculations concerning Grenada’s resources and capacity plunged our country into the darkest time of its history.
The New National Party is working to unite all Grenadians, physically as well as psychologically, the communities within Grenada, Carriacou and Petit Martinique to work for change. This is a breakthrough in the country which the NDC politics and propaganda will not be able to undermine.
Grenada’s Parliament arguably hit a new low in 2012 when partisan bickering ran out of control and Thomas and Burke paralyzed the country by proroguing Parliament for months. It’s a shame on our elected representatives that it had to be done in the dark. Thomas egotism has caused the collapse of businesses, Industries and economic turmoil, company closings and mass unemployment in Grenada.
The Tillman Thomas NDC government was too lazy and disgusting to do the work they were elected by the people to do. This is yet another example of Thomas putting his self-interest above the needs of the people he was supposed to represent. Thomas tenure as our prime minister has been driven by hubris and hypocrisy. The allegations and accusations against Thomas and his empty legislative record has been a major embarrassment to the people of the tri-island.
This is a prime minister that has shown an enormous affinity for skirting our constitution to implement his agenda. He has used executive actions to put in place policies that he knows would never pass muster with Parliament and the Grenadian people.
The very fact that he’s looking at the NDC government as a success is really a laugh. Thomas and his NDC government are a dismal failure.
We need Dr Keith Mitchell, a man who knows how to tackle Grenada’s overwhelming troubles.
The people of Grenada deserve better representation than Thomas government had provided. Thomas made many promises to the people of Grenada, promised $400 for seniors, old people who cannot fight for themselves, and many, many, more promises. He backtracked on everyone. Those were just empty words and a significant disappointments to all those who supported him five years ago.
Thomas claimed he was “stabbed in the back” by Parliamentary representatives from his government. However, by trying to return the very people who have prolonged his constituents suffering to power, the people of Grenada are the ones nursing the knife wounds in their backs.
Five years ago, the people of Grenada were gradually willing to, and calling for change, gave up all aspects of their liberty in hopes of reaching that elusive sense of security they turned themselves into slaves to those in power, leading everyone to ruin. Those who can make us believe absurdities, can cause us to commit atrocities -- Voltaire.
We were awash by NDC elected officials who have led Grenadians in radical and self destructive directions. And then there is Tillman Thomas and Nazim Burke. Have these men become completely unhinged? Thomas rises to the top of the motley crew when it comes to hypocrisy. He has been a deceptive hypocrite for the last five years of his political life. He deceptively and fraudulently lied to the people of Grenada. The two main culprits: himself and Nazim Burke, the smirking liar.
Thomas has lost it, and it shows, both in his demeanour and his visage. But for sheer hypocrisy, the record is clear. Here is a man who made thousands of dollars from shady Saudi Arabian figures that he used his public office to tout.
Any student of history will tell you that totalitarian countries ban pretty much everything. The Taliban whipped people in public for dancing. Mao would execute you for saying a prayer. Hitler would send you to a concentration camp if he thought you were gay. Tillman Thomas would have you fired, if you spoke out against him. Case in point, Grenada’s top journalist, Mr Rawle Titus. Thomas had him fired from his job. It may be hard for Thomas fellow NDC to see all this. They are too busy defending their mistaken hawkishness from all Grenadians.
The people of Grenada need public servants who know the difference between serving the public and killing the public. The people of Grenada must pay back Thomas NDC government for their five years of hardship and failure. A government that does not know decency, integrity, truth or sincerity and honesty if it sat in a chair next to them.
I pray with all the people of Grenada, come February 19, 2013, that justice will be done, and it will be swift. It will be entertaining to watch the NDC officials paint themselves into a corner with their horrific ingratiating untruths. The big question raised by other Caribbean nations is “How did Grenada allowed itself to sink to the bottom in the last five years”.
The essence of democracy has been indelibly disgraced by NDC perverse charade. The people of Grenada have coped too long with this rogue Thomas and his cronies. Our country and our democracy will again be shovel ready with a New National Party administration. Working and helping the people of Grenada need to pick up more steam.
This General Election is all about who’s best suited, best qualified to take Grenada forward. Ladies and gentlemen, right now our country is in the dumps, we have to change this, men and women from our nation. This is your chance to make that change at the voting booths.
Vote for a better Grenada, vote for job creation, vote for health care, vote for unity, vote for your children’s future. Vote the House.
After years upon years of cover-ups, lies and duplicitous conduct, the people of Grenada are getting ready to say “Adios” to Tillman Thomas and Nazim Burke. One wonders if Thomas and Burke even know anymore what truth really is. You can’t lie over and over and over again for years, and then decide now that election is near, you’re going to spin a different story and expect the people of Grenada to believe and vote for you. Not happening.
