Dear Sir:

The rogue state of Iran gathers comfort from countries and groups who are members of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) and in particular an associated group called The Bolivarian Alliance [“Alternative” prior to June 24 2009] for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA). Like Iran, ALBA is anti-American and demonstrates so at every opportunity. The question must be asked “should the US be dealing with or supporting countries that show hatred towards it?”

The think-tank, The Heritage Foundation (THF) is recommending to the US government that they cancel or suspend all beneficial commercial arrangements with ALBA countries. These would include, among others, waivers of the type granted to Nicaragua and all trade preferences in whatever form.

THF also says they should oppose grants and concessionary loans to ALBA countries from the Inter-American Development Bank, the International Monetary Fund, and the World Bank. THF recommends that the US fund, where possible, nonpartisan pro-democracy groups in ALBA countries.

THF says that the US should push back with public diplomacy in response to particularly egregious statements from ALBA presidents to point out the many failings, inane statements, and erratic behavior of these very leaders. THF says the US should end diplomatic appeasement by ceasing to court ALBA governments at a senior level. The US should make no attempt to send ambassadors to those countries that have rejected or expelled US envoys in the recent past and should not negotiate cooperative or framework agreements with ALBA countries.

ALBA is an international cooperation organization based on the idea of social, political, and economic integration between the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean. It is associated with socialist and social democratic governments and is an attempt at regional economic integration based on a vision of socialism.

Currently the member nations are Antigua and Barbuda, Bolivia, Cuba, Dominica, Ecuador, Nicaragua, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and Venezuela.

Since February 2012, Suriname and Saint Lucia are guest countries to ALBA.

In an attempt to undermine the US dollar, ALBA nations have introducing a new regional currency, the SUCRE. It was intended to be the common virtual currency by 2010 and eventually a hard currency. July 6, 2010, Venezuela and Ecuador conducted the first bilateral trade deal between two ALBA countries using the new trading currency, the Sucre, instead of the US dollar.

When it was launched in 2004, ALBA had only two member states, Venezuela and Cuba.

ALBA began with the Cuba-Venezuela Agreement, which was signed on December 14, 2004, by Presidents Hugo Chávez and Fidel Castro, was aimed at the exchange of medical and educational resources and petroleum between both nations.

Subsequently a number of other Latin American and Caribbean nations have entered into this Peoples' Trade Agreement (Spanish: Tratado de Comercio de los Pueblos, or TCP), which aims to implement the principles of ALBA. Bolivia, under Evo Morales, joined in 2006, Nicaragua under Danial Ortega in 2007, and Ecuador under Rafael Correa in 2009. Honduras, under Manual Zelaya, joined in 2008, but withdrew in 2009 after the 2009 Honduran coup d’état saw him replaced by Roberto Michiletti.

NAM is a group of states that are not aligned formally with or against any major power bloc. As of 2012, the movement has 120 members and 17 observer countries.

In a speech given during the Havana Declaration of 1979, Fidel Castro said the purpose of the NAM organization is to ensure "the national independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity and security of non-aligned countries" in their "struggle against imperialism, colonialism, colonialism, neo-colonialism, racism, and all forms of foreign aggression, occupation, domination, interference or hegemony as well as against great power and bloc politics".

The countries of the Non-Aligned Movement represent nearly two-thirds of the United Nations’ members and contain 55% of the world population. Membership is particularly concentrated in countries considered to be developing or part of the Third World.

NAM has been hijacked by countries such as Iran and those countries who are members of ALBA. Much of the ALBA membership is Marxist or Marxist-Leninist indoctrinated, calling themselves scientific socialist countries and governments. Many of their leaders have leanings towards dictatorship.

It is well known that Fidel Castro's words ring hollow when you examine the behaviour of Cuba; they have specifically been involved in all the things that Castro said NAM rejects -- “Interference in national independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity and security.” Venezuela and Cuba through ALBA and before, has raised a new imperialism, colonialism, neo-colonialism, racism, foreign aggression, occupation, domination, interference and hegemony and has formed a new great power and bloc politics in creating ALBA.

The Non-Aligned Movement was originally formed as an attempt to impede the Cold War, gradually becoming irrelevant since the Cold War ended. Yugoslavia was a founding member of NAM, after the fracture of post President Tito’s Yugoslavia, the country had its membership suspended in 1992. Successor states of the communist Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia have expressed little interest in membership, though some have observer status.

In 2004, Malta and Cyprus ceased to be members and joined the European Union. Belarus remains the sole member of the Movement in Europe. Turkmenistan, Belarus and the Dominican Republic are the most recent entrants. The applications of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Costa Rica were rejected in 1995 and 1998.

August 26 to 31, 2012, the 16th NAM summit took place in Tehran, Iran. Representatives from over 150 countries attended, including all of ALBA. At the summit, Iran took over from Egypt as chair of the Non-Aligned Movement for the period 2012 to 2015.

One must be aware that Iran is also involved in all the things that NAM rejects. Funding arming, supplying and encouraging terrorism, interference in the national independence of countries, attacking the sovereignty of counties, attacking territorial integrity and security. Raising a new type of Muslim and religious imperialism, colonialism, neo-colonialism, racism, anti-Christianity and anti-Judaism, foreign aggression, occupation, domination, interference and hegemony and has formed an alliance with a new great power and bloc politics, ALBA. And perhaps worst of all, Iran is threatening world security by attempting to build atomic bombs and weapons.

Venezuela and Bolivia have been supplying uranium to Iran, and Venezuela has leased a mining area to Iran for mining uranium.

ALBA members, contrary to NAM policies, are practicing “great power and bloc politics”. Bloc politics by bloc voting at the United Nations (UN), voting on behalf of rogue states such as North Korea and Iran, voting in support for them at the UN in whatever way is required to support them; right or wrong is not in the equation. Whatever it takes to protect them from a UN vote that sanctions or punishes them, voting with them, voting for them, abstaining, or absent, whatever it takes.

ALBA is intrinsically anti-American, ALBA politicians like Hugo Chavez, Raul Castro and Ralph Gonsalves should be sanctioned and the US government should cancel or suspend all beneficial commercial arrangements with them, their countries and all ALBA member countries, particularly the remittances that flow from America to ALBA countries. Perhaps in general we should stop using the titles Honourable and Excellency when addressing these people; they really don’t deserve such.

I KNOW that I have heard that name before.

But if we forget the Surname for a while, that leaves us with the name "PETER."

I will put my money on the bet that Peter Bignose is ALSO the same infamous "PETER" we all know.

Just an update on two of our allies, Iran and Venezuela.

This is probably one of the reasons why Canada threw out the Iranians and broke off diplomatic relations with Iran. This must of had some bearing on SVG having VISA restrictions put on it. Diplomacy does not always reflect the truth of a situation.

KUWAIT CITY, April 28:
Iran’s Revolutionary Guard is training a large number of Kuwaitis, Bahrainis and Saudis in a private training camp located in Waheera, a remote area near the borders of Venezuela and Columbia, and intends to use them to carry out terrorist activities within their respective countries and other areas across the world in case Iran is attacked militarily.

Direct information from a militant who broke away from the Iranian trainers says, the trainees are first sent to Venezuelan capital Caracas or Columbian capital Bogota via Damascus and from there, they are sent to the border region in cars.

The training camp is run by Iranian intelligence officers and others affiliated to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard in cooperation with Hezbollah and Hamas. The trainees are given courses in making bombs, carrying out assassinations, kidnapping people and in transporting hostages to other locations.

The trainees are being trained to act in case there is a war against Iran. They plan to bomb all embassies of Gulf countries, Egypt, Morocco, Jordan and in some Latin American countries will be targeted. The bombings, however, will not be carried out by Iranian Shiites, but the trained mercenaries from poorer countries in the group such as Venezuela, Columbia, Ecuador and Bolivia besides some other supporters from Hamas and other individuals so that Iranian involvement will not be suspected.

The financing of this militia, is from the money Iran makes through drug trafficking and money laundering, which is equal to the budget of some countries. “For example, Dutch police, in cooperation with security authorities of seven other countries, arrested 17 drug smugglers in 2009 in Korasu and confiscated 2,000 kilos of cocaine from them. The huge quantity was smuggled through tankers from Venezuela to West Africa and then to Holland, Lebanon and Spain. Smugglers also transported cocaine by air from Korasu to Holland, Belgium, Spain and Jordan. The Dutch authorities announced that the drug smuggling network was linked to Hezbollah and Iran”.

Now we know that Iranians are training ALBA country nationals at the ALBA military school. We still do not have the answer to how many SVG police have been through the ALBA course. We are members of ALBA so we must be using the facilities. Its like being a member of a sports club or gymnasium, if you join you do so to use the facilities.

September 24th, A senior commander of Iran's Revolutionary Guards said any attack on Iranian soil could trigger World War III" by opening the possibility of a pre-emptive strike on Israel.

Amir Ali Hajizadeh, brigadier general in the elite corps, told state-run Al-Alam television that if Iran was sure the "enemies" were ready to attack, a pre-emptive attack on Israel is not excluded.

"We cannot imagine the Zionist regime starting a war without America's support. Therefore, in case of a war, we will get into a war with both of them and we will certainly get into a conflict with American bases," he said, according to NBC news. "In that case, unpredictable and unmanageable things would happen and it could turn into a World War III."

He also threatened US facilities in Gulf countries such as Bahrain, where the Fifth fleet is based, and Qatar.

"There will be no neutral country in the region," Hajizadeh was quoted as saying. "To us, these bases are equal to U.S. soil."

The Iranian government is moving forward with the construction of rocket launch bases in Venezuela, the German daily Die Welt wrote in its Friday edition.
Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez is Teheran’s most important South American ally.

Iran is building intermediate- range missile launch pads on the Paraguaná Peninsula, and engineers from a construction firm – Khatam al-Anbia – owned by the Revolutionary Guards visited Paraguaná in February. Amir al-Hadschisadeh, the head of the Guard’s Air Force, participated in the visit, according to the report. Die Welt cited information from “Western security insiders.”

The rocket bases are to include measures to prevent air attacks on Venezuela as well as commando and control stations.

The Iranian military involvement in the project extends to bunker, barracks and watch tower construction. Twenty-meter deep rocket silos are planned. The cost of the Venezuelan military project is being paid for with Iranian oil revenue. The Iranians paid in cash for the preliminary phase of the project and, the total cost is expected to amount to “dozens of millions” of dollars, Die Welt wrote.

The Paraguaná Peninsula is on the coast of Venezuela and is roughly 120 kilometers from America’s main South American partner, Columbia.

There are cars and motor cycle burning in Tehran and shops have been closing in protest against the Ahmadinejad government.

Iran and North Korea have taken another step closer to each other by signing an agreement on future co-operation in various science and information technology fields.
Iranian minister for science, research, and technology Farhad Daneshjoo and North Korean foreign minister Pak Ui-chun inked the deal, according to a Reuters report which cited the local Iranian Labour News Agency (ILNA).
The two countries will apparently look to team up on IT, engineering, biotech, renewable energy, and – possibly of most use to North Korea given its history of famine – agriculture and food-related tech.

Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad came to the US last week but it appears that his entire delegation didn’t return to Iran. Ahmadinejad’s photographer is reported to have filed the paperwork to seek asylum and remain in the United States. According to U.S law, once you’ve filed for asylum, you can legally remain within the country until a decision is made.
The photographer’s reason for asylum is due to his political stance with his own government. During his trip with the Iranian president, he claimed that his superiors were pressuring him to photograph things he was not comfortable with. In the eyes of the Iranian officials, his lack of compliance means he is siding with the U.S. instead of Iran. This potentially puts he and his family in danger.
While the specific whereabouts of the photographer remain unknown, it does appear that the decision was premeditated. The family of the photographer fled Iran before the paperwork was filed and are reportedly attempting to come the U.S. as well.

Over the weeks I have learnt a lot and have plenty to digest.
However, Peter you must be careful when you ask a Vincentian to seek Asylum in another country….. Remember the last time Vincis sought refugee they imposed visa restrictions on us…. Moreover, it was the same country (Iran) that is bringing merciless problems on us.
Peter, the world has recognized Iran’s President as a threat to their economies and military, peace and citizens. One does not have to go to university to figure out that this man does not have anything near democracy in him. His own people are running away from him, yet we are ‘fronting’ ourselves. This is a country that the US, Canada and Britain have own their radar and watched by endless satellites. Why are we so arrogant in celebration with this man?
The US is the world economic giant and has a military that is second to none. Its allies are economically viable and have military forces that have enormous capabilities. How can SVG that does not even have an agriculture industry stand up to anything? The US does not even have to invade SVG militarily; a ‘lil’ sanction would do. Assess our economic status now, then imagine economic sanctions - Lord have mercy.

The Canadian delegation at the United Nations walked out on Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad as he took the podium to address the general assembly.
The Iranian president, known for making incendiary and anti-Semitic remarks on the UN stage, delivered what was his eighth and last UN address as the country’s president. For the most part, it lacked the incendiary tone of previous speeches to the UN, focusing instead on a messianic message that a saviour will come to erase the current world order.
Today’s walkout was not the first for Canada. Former foreign minister Lawrence Cannon led a walkout of Mr. Ahmadinejad’s address in 2009, and the Canadian delegation walked out last year.
But Canada’s relations with Iran have soured even further. Ottawa recently shut its embassy in Tehran, expelled all Iranian diplomats from Canada, and declared Iran a “state sponsor” of terrorism.
"We will not sit silently in our chairs and listen to Iran's hateful, anti-Western, anti-Semitic views," Richard Roth, press secretary for Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird, said. "If anything, today's address only reinforces our decision earlier this month to suspend diplomatic relations with Iran."

Breaking News: Iran Launching Massive Arrests Of Evangelicals

TEHRAN, IRAN (BosNewsLife)-- Massive arrests of evangelical Protestant Christians, including many former Muslims, are reported in Iran, with men and women being dragged to prisons across the Islamic nation.

"We have learned that at least 100, but perhaps as many as 400 people, have been detained over the last 10 days," said Firouz Khandjani, a council member of the 'Church of Iran' house church movement.

Speaking from an undisclosed location, he told BosNewsLife late Saturday, October 13, that forces of the feared intelligence service, who he called "Iran's Gestapo", broke up worship services in Esfehan, Shiraz and Tehran areas.

"They are of several movements. But it has become clear that Protestant Christians are now viewed as enemy number one of the state," Khandjani said. "We need urgent prayers," he added when asked what believers need most.

CHURCH MEMBERS DETAINED

He said among those detained late Friday, October 12, are at least five members of the Church of Iran in the city of Shiraz, including Mohammad Roghangir, known locally as 'Brother Vahid', who led a house church service attended by some 15 people.

"We are also concerned about sister Roxana Forughi as this is the second time she is being detained."

Other Christians captured during the same raid were identified as Eskandar Rezaie, Bijan Haghighi, Mehdi Ameruni and Shahin Lahooti.

Iranian Christians said they were taken to the notorious detention center Plaque 100 of Iran's Intelligence Ministry.

SUSPENDED SENTENCES

Khandjani confirmed reports that on Thursday, October 11, seven Christians received suspended five year sentences for "action against the national security," after they were already jailed for up to three weeks in Rasht, some six years ago.

He said he was also concerned about the situation of Christians taken to prisons in recent days. "We know that many have been forced to say they will no longer attend church services in exchange for freedom."

There was no immediate response from Iranian officials.

The latest reported crackdown comes on the eve of the October 15 trial of five Christian converts detained in Adel-Abad prison eight months ago following a raid on a house church in Shiraz.

FIVE CONFINED

Since their arrests, the five been confined in cells housing dangerous criminals on charges of "creating illegal groups", "participating in a house church service", "propagation against the Islamic regime" and "defaming Islamic holy figures through Christian evangelizing," Iranian Christians said.

There is also concern about the health of several church leaders detained earlier, including
Iranian Pastor Behnam Irani, who potentially faces the death penalty for "apostasy", or abandoning Islam.

Christians have said he suffers of "various medical problems" in part because of prison mistreatment.

Despite the reported persecution, there may be at least 100,000 evangelical Christians in Iran, according to church groups, with others giving higher estimates.

Mitt Romney calls for Mahmoud Ahmadinejad genocide prosecution at the International Criminal Court.

Mitt Romney has appealed for Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to be prosecuted for inciting genocide, appearing to put him directly at odds with his own advisers who oppose the International Criminal Court (ICC).

Mr Romney said: "I'd make sure that Ahmadinejad is indicted under the Genocide Convention. His words amount to genocide incitation. I would indict him for it.
"I would also make sure that their diplomats are treated like the pariah they are around the world. The same way we treated the apartheid diplomats of South Africa."

The rogue state of Iran gathers comfort from countries and groups who are members of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) and in particular an associated group called The Bolivarian Alliance [“Alternative” prior to June 24 2009] for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA). Like Iran, ALBA is anti-American and demonstrates so at every opportunity. The question must be asked “ should the US be dealing with or supporting countries that shows hatred towards it?”

The think-tank, The Heritage Foundation (THF) is recommending to the US government that they cancel or suspend all beneficial commercial arrangements with ALBA countries. These would include, among others, waivers of the type granted to Nicaragua and all trade preferences in whatever form. THF also says they should oppose grants and concessionary loans to ALBA countries from the Inter-American Development Bank, the International Monetary Fund, and the World Bank. THF recommend that the US fund, where possible, nonpartisan pro-democracy groups in ALBA countries. THF say that the US should push back with public diplomacy in response to particularly egregious statements from ALBA presidents to point out the many failings, inane statements, and erratic behavior of these very leaders. THF says the US should end diplomatic appeasement by ceasing to court ALBA governments at a senior level. The U.S. should make no attempt to send ambassadors to those countries that have rejected or expelled U.S. envoys in the recent past and should not negotiate cooperative or framework agreements with ALBA countries.

ALBA is an international cooperation organization based on the idea of social, political, and economic integration between the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean. It is associated with socialist and social democratic governments and is an attempt at regional economic integration based on a vision of socialism.
Currently the member nations are Antigua and Barbuda, Bolivia, Cuba, Dominica, Ecuador, Nicaragua, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and Venezuela.
Since February 2012, Suriname and Saint Lucia are guest countries to ALBA.
In an attempt to undermine the US dollar, ALBA nations have introducing a new regional currency, the SUCRE. It was intended to be the common virtual currency by 2010 and eventually a hard currency. July 6, 2010, Venezuela and Ecuador conducted the first bilateral trade deal between two ALBA countries using the new trading currency, the Sucre, instead of the US dollar.

When it was launched in 2004, ALBA had only two member states, Venezuela and Cuba.
ALBA began with the Cuba-Venezuela Agreement, which was signed on December 14, 2004, by Presidents Hugo Chávez and Fidel Castro, was aimed at the exchange of medical and educational resources and petroleum between both nations.
Subsequently a number of other Latin American and Caribbean nations have entered into this Peoples' Trade Agreement (Spanish: Tratado de Comercio de los Pueblos, or TCP) which aims to implement the principles of ALBA. Bolivia under Evo Morales joined in 2006, Nicaragua under Danial Ortega in 2007, and Ecuador under Rafael Correa in 2009. Honduras, under Manual Zelaya, joined in 2008, but withdrew in 2009 after the 2009 Honduran coup d’etat saw him replaced by Roberto Michiletti.
NAM is a group of states which are not aligned formally with or against any major power bloc. As of 2012, the movement has 120 members and 17 observer countries.
In a speech given during the Havana Declaration of 1979, Fidel Castro said the purpose of the NAM organization is to ensure "the national independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity and security of non-aligned countries" in their "struggle against imperialism, colonialism, colonialism, neo-colonialism, racism, and all forms of foreign aggression, occupation, domination, interference or hegemony as well as against great power and bloc politics".
The countries of the Non-Aligned Movement represent nearly two-thirds of the United Nation's members and contain 55% of the world population. Membership is particularly concentrated in countries considered to be developing or part of the Third World.
NAM has been hijacked by countries such as Iran and those countries who are members of ALBA. Much of the ALBA membership is MARXIST or MARXIST-LENINIST indoctrinated, calling themselves Scientific Socialist countries and governments. Many of their leaders have leanings towards dictatorship.
It is well known that FIDEL CASTRO'S words ring hollow when you examine the behavior of CUBA, they have specifically been involved in all the things that Castro said NAM rejects. “Interference in national independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity and security“. Venezuela and Cuba through ALBA and before, has raised a new imperialism, colonialism, neo-colonialism, racism, foreign aggression, occupation, domination, interference and hegemony and has formed a new great power and bloc politics in creating ALBA.
The Non-Aligned Movement was originally formed as an attempt to impede the Cold War, gradually becoming irrelevant since the Cold War ended. Yugoslavia was a founding member of NAM, after the fracture of post President Tito’s Yugoslavia, the country had its membership suspended in 1992. Successor states of the communist Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia have expressed little interest in membership, though some have observer status.
In 2004, Malta and Cyprus ceased to be members and joined the European Union. Belarus remains the sole member of the Movement in Europe. Turkmenistan, Belarus and the Dominican Republic are the most recent entrants. The applications of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Costa Rica were rejected in 1995 and 1998.
August 26th to 31st 2012, the 16th NAM summit took place in Tehran, Iran. Representatives from over 150 countries attended, including all of ALBA. At the summit, Iran took over from Egypt as Chair of the Non-Aligned Movement for the period 2012 to 2015.
One must be aware that Iran is also involved in all the things that NAM rejects. Funding arming, supplying and encouraging terrorism, interference in the national independence of countries, attacking the sovereignty of counties, attacking territorial integrity and security. Raising a new type of Muslim and religious imperialism, colonialism, neo-colonialism, racism, anti-Christianity and anti-Judaism, foreign aggression, occupation, domination, interference and hegemony and has formed an alliance with a new great power and bloc politics, ALBA. And perhaps worst of all, Iran is threatening World security by attempting to build atomic bombs and weapons.
Venezuela and Bolivia have been supplying uranium to Iran, and Venezuela have leased a mining area to Iran for mining uranium.
ALBA members contrary to NAM policies, are practicing “great power and bloc politics“. Bloc Politics by bloc voting at the United Nations (UN), voting on behalf of rogue states such as North Korea and Iran, voting in support for them at the UN in whatever way is required to support them, right or wrong is not in the equation. Whatever it takes to protect them from a UN vote that sanctions or punishes them, voting with them, voting for them, abstaining, or absent, whatever it takes.
ALBA is intrinsically anti-American, ALBA Politicians like Hugo Chavez, Raul Castro and Ralph Gonsalves, should be sanctioned and US government should cancel or suspend all beneficial commercial arrangements with them, their countries and all ALBA member countries, particularly the remittances that flow from America to ALBA countries.
Perhaps in general we should stop using the titles Honorable and Excellency when addressing people like GONSALVES and other leaders, I believe they really don’t deserve such.
