The NDP in St Vincent must take the cake when it comes to political hypocrisy.

Recently, the NDP and its followers have been speaking about employment contracts given to ULP supporters, and severely criticized the government for doing so. What is troubling about this matter is that they themselves are the biggest hypocrites on planet earth... since no-one is more guilty than the NDP themselves in this matter.

Let us take a look at two employment contracts which the NDP approved when they were in power; which came to an end in 2001. Please bear in mind that we are not talking about 2012 here. We are talking about what happened way back in 1996. Should anyone challenge this disclosure, these are public documents which could be found at the Government Registry in Kingstown.

Arnhim Eustace’s Sweetheart Contract

In 1996, the NDP under James Mitchell gave Arnhim Eustace a contract as a financial advisor to the government, and here are the details of that contract.

In 1996 Eustace was paid $108,000 per year.... $9,000 per month, which works out to about $480 per working-day. In addition, Eustace also received a traveling allowance of $700 per month.... in 1996!

Additionally, Eustace was permitted the importation of a duty-free vehicle every three years. ...And if that was not enough, they attached a 20% gratuity at the end of the contract.

It must be remembered here that in 1996, the average Vincentian worker under the pathetic NDP, made $18 per day, and some made $70 per week. Eustace, in contrast earned $480 PER DAY!

Daniel Cummings' Sweetheart Contract

If you thought Eustace got a great deal... just see what Daniel Cummings received for being the general manager of the Water Authority. And again, this is public information which could be found at the Court House in Kingstown.

Cummings asked for and received an early retirement. The board paid him a gratuity of $173,000 and a PENSION FOR LIFE of $3,468.10 per month!

They then turned around and rehired him to be the new general manager at a salary of $12,000 per month and an entertainment allowance of $1,000 per month. They gave him a vehicle, and paid him a telephone allowance of $300 per month.

Cummings is still being paid his pension from the CWSA, since the NDP contract at the time specified that it was/is FOR LIFE! Cummings has so far received close to $1,000,000 in the last ten years.

You do the math! Gratuity + total pension + new salary + the gratuity of 25% from the new salary.

And these are same persons who have the 'cahones' to speak about the ULP! No-one in the ULP in 2012 is being paid along the lines that Cummings and Eustace were compensated way back in 1996!

If we calculate a 4% annual increase in inflation, (without compounding it), that is 16 years x 4% -- or a 64% increase in 1996 dollars. So add 64% to Eustace's $108,000 salary, and calculate what Cummings received, and that is what we are looking at in 2012 dollars.

The NDP Pack of Liars

There is one factor NDP supporters have in common -- and that is... they are all pathetic, serial liars.

This week the High Court handed down another judgement in favour of the prime minister against Matthew Thomas and BDS (Nice Radio) in the amount of $155,000 plus costs of $11,625, plus 5% interest from the date of assessment until payment is made in full.

The award was for defamation against the prime minister. (Defamation is defined as "any intentional false communication that harms a person’s reputation".) Civil Suit No: HCVSVG 2007/0064. In this case, Mathew Thomas lied on the prime minister on January 29, 2007, during a radio broadcast on the "Stay Awake" call-in radio program.

Thomas broadcast false and malicious statements concerning Dr Ralph Gonsalves over Nice Radio when he said that Ralph Gonsalves was actually conspiring to assassinate Junior Bacchus, to silence him. There are several other lies which Thomas told on this occasion, but this was the most serious one. I will elaborate, should anyone attempt to challenge these facts.

The Court's decision was clear. Thomas made slanderous statements, and the Court was satisfied that despite being given opportunities to retract their statements and to issue an apology, the defendants chose to not avail themselves of that opportunity.

Isn't this similar to the case of Arnhim Eustace who lied to the Vincentian public when he told us that that the banana boat would no longer be docking in St Vincent to collect out locally grown bananas for export to the UK?

Isn't this reminiscent of Allan Palmer and his lying article on this forum dated June 3, 2011, entitled "Who is Simon Anderson?" Palmer has an axe to grind against the prime minister, since he, by his own admission, went to jail for conspiracy to kill the prime minister.

Isn't this similar to the lies told by Markie Spring on this very forum in his article dated December 6, 2010, entitled "A political war with bloodshed?" Spring, lying as usual, claimed that three NDP women were beaten by four ULP men. The exact opposite is true, but Spring will never let a little thing like the truth get between him and a good story.

Just like Matthew Thomas, Arnhim Eustace, Markie Spring and Allan Palmer stubbornly refuse to be men with backbones, or consciences, or integrity, and admit their failures.

Surely you can take the man out of the gutter -- but you can't take the gutter out of the man.

Simple simon, to bring clarity to the issue, please tell us the salaries of the following:-

Vincent Beache, Joseph(Burns) bonadie, Elson Crick, Clem Ballah, Hans King, Glenn Beache, George at Bragsa, Morgan now at Lauders, Herman Belmar and Snagg both of whom lost elections and were placed in charge of the same constituencies that they contested, and you who cannot work privately, but depend on a government work.

Simple simon if the NDP did what you are claiming and you feel that this was wrong, how can you justify the same thing done by the ULP and done on a much larger scale?

There are a number of employment contracts given to ULP fanatics, and their salaries are bleeding the country to death, yet you come on this medium to talk about political hypocracy.
