Letter: Tribute to Whitney Houston
Published on February 14, 2012      Print Version

Dear Sir:

As family, friends and fans from all over the world mourn the loss of an iconic singer, I would like to show love and support on behalf of the Caribbean people with a poem I wrote.

Tribute to Whitney Houston

By Dillon Ollivierre

Fallen like a star in the night sky
The world pauses as many begin to cry
An angel has passed away
Whitney Houston is no longer with us today
The world has lost an iconic singer
A daughter has lost her mother
A family has lost their relative
The world has lost someone who was truly talented

The positives of this talented female outweigh the negatives by far
Her talent, it shone near and far
Like the moon in the night sky
Her talent we cannot deny
Like the sun that shines during the day
Her musical legacy will never fade away
Whitney has inspired from generation to generation
Whitney Houston, you are and will always be a source of inspiration

As the world mourns, I salute you poetically
R.I.P. Whitney
