Letter: Grace
Published on December 14, 2012 Email To Friend    Print Version

Dear Sir:

Good day to you, my name is Orlando Brown a student of St George's College, 18-years-old. One thing that I can that I enjoy doing is writing my poems as they share certain traits that others see and for others to be able to read and understand what I have to share. My words mean more than a rhyme, as the meaning behind it should be important. This poem fallen speaks a lot about our current condition in the world and its impact on us and on the earth.

Grace itself is always in abundance but we often forget that there is a limit
Like many before us we allow greed to destroy us
Hate and envy to corrupt our minds
Children no longer have their innocence as it has been tainted by new social norms.
Society has broken down, each day we find it in a worsened state
What has happened to our earth?
Nature itself is crying, she no longer shields us from His blow
As she is suffering from our actions, her lands are being destroyed and polluted
We have forsaken her beauty and fertility
Only to set rampage to it, sacking her lands and desecration of her beauty
As times continue her cries grow and suffering
She yearns for her salvation as she mourns her loss

Orlando Brown
