Interjet to begin direct Monterrey-Havana flights
Published on October 24, 2012 Email To Friend    Print Version

HAVANA, Cuba (ACN) -- A new air route between the Mexican city of Monterrey and Havana will be inaugurated on October 25, which is expected to result in an increase in the number of visitors from that country to Cuba.

This service will be provided by the Interjet airline on Thursdays and Sundays, with 150 reservations a day in A320 aircraft and 38 routes within that country that will contribute to the promotion of this offer, the Prensa Latina news agency reported.

Mexico was the second Latin American country sending tourists to Cuba in the January-August period this year, with 51,766, after Argentina (74,467), according to the National Office of Statistics and Information.

Interjet began commercial operations to Cuba in August 2011, with the purpose of boosting tourism in Havana, Varadero Beach and Santa Maria Cay.
