Growing number of travellers doing online research prior to booking travel

MIAMI, USA -- According to Grace Villamayor, travel expert and managing partner for the car rental website, as much as 80 percent of travellers today conduct online research prior to booking their trips.

Aggregators or online travel agents like Expedia, Travelocity and Orbitz have been around for years, allowing customers the opportunity to research options prior to booking. The new trend, however, points to online aggregators that specialize in addressing a specific travel need such as (for car rentals), (for hotels) and (for tours and activities).

The benefits? Customers have more options to choose from prior to booking and can reserve the best rates possible., for instance, which recently launched its website, specializes in addressing all car rental needs for Latin American and Caribbean customers. The website allows travelers the opportunity to compare and shop for rates from multiple car rental companies such as Alamo, Hertz and Avis, at the ease of a click.

“Technology is revolutionizing the way people book their trips these days. Today’s travelers wants to be informed; they want to explore their options and get the best service and value for their money,” said Villamayor. “Most importantly, technology is making pricing much more transparent., for instance, provides a total price without surprises on all of its rentals, giving customers exactly what they want, which is 100 percent transparency.”
