MONTEGO BAY, Jamaica -- Frontier Airlines’ new nonstop seasonal service between its Denver, Colo. (DEN) hub and Montego Bay, Jamaica (MBJ), began on Sunday. The new weekly flights are Denver’s only winter nonstop to the Caribbean.

”With the launch of service to Montego Bay, Frontier is the first and only carrier offering nonstop service from Denver to Jamaica,” said Daniel Shurz, Frontier’s senior vice president, commercial. “We’re confident that travelers will love our friendly, low fare service to this popular destination.”

“We are eager to welcome visitors from Colorado and its environs to Jamaica with the start of nonstop service from Denver to Montego Bay on Frontier Airlines,” said John Lynch, Jamaica’s director of tourism. “This seasonal weekly flight will provide ease of access to visitors looking to escape the cold weather and experience the warmth of our destination. We look forward to welcoming our guests to experience our wonderful culture, delectable cuisine and numerous attractions and entertainment activities.”

With the new service, Jamaica is added to Frontier’s growing list of nonstop international destinations from Denver. Frontier also provides nonstop service from Denver to five destinations in Mexico, as well as both San Jose and Liberia, Costa Rica.

“We are closing out a successful 2013 by adding nonstop service to another new international destination -- Montego Bay, Jamaica," said Denver manager of aviation, Kim Day. "This new flight, provided by Frontier, adds to our travelers’ nonstop options, and increases DIA’s global reach."

The new service will operate on 138-seat Airbus 319 aircraft.
