American Airlines taking off from St Kitts Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport
BASSETERRE, St Kitts (CUOPM) -- St Kitts Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport is to get an additional flight from New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) this summer.
The St Kitts Tourism Authority announced on Monday that the third American Airlines flight on Friday will complement the regular Wednesday and Saturday non-stop flights from JFK.
Providing more options for longer or shorter stays on island, the new JFK Friday flights will operate from Friday, June 13, 2014, through Friday, September 5, 2014.
Flight #1430 will depart JFK at 5:00 pm and arrives St Kitts at 9:30pm; Flight #1431 returns the next day, Saturday departing St Kitts (SKB) at 10:30 am and arriving JFK at 2:55 pm.
“The addition of a third weekly non-stop New York to St Kitts flight from June to August is an indicator of the ongoing positive developments in St Kitts tourism,” said Sen. Richard ‘Ricky’ Skerritt, minister of tourism and international transport.
“Our Summer Sunsation -- The St Kitts Music Festival, Nevis' Culturama, and CPL T20 Cricket -- will all help to make travel to St Kitts and Nevis a very attractive option for this summer,” said Skerritt.
Complementing the newly added Friday non-stop flights from JFK on American Airlines, St Kitts "Summer Sunsation" family offer is designed to provide more value for travellers’ money, particularly for those travelling with children.
Valid on new bookings only made between now and June 30 for travel from now through September 1, 2014, it offers the fourth and seventh nights free at participating hotels.
